The American Boatbuilders & Repairers Association (ABBRA) is pleased to announce that Huckins Yacht Corporation of Jacksonville and Camachee Yacht Yard of St. Augustine have recently been recognized for their outstanding work in the boatbuilding and repair industry.
Huckins Yacht corporation received ABBRA’s 2019 Boat Builder of the Year Award which recognizes the boat building facility that through its commitment to innovation, sound engineering, quality workmanship, teamwork, and professional project management, builds vessels that have been successfully launched and recognized as a significant contribution to the recreational yachting industry. In presenting the award to Huckins owners Cindy and Buddy Purcell, ABBRA Executive Director Pam Lendzion noted “Back in 1928, when Frank Pembroke Huckins launched his first yacht and the company that bears his name, the process of creating something extraordinary was a labor of love. Today, 91 years later, that emotion still runs in the family. Huckins yachts continue to be among the lightest, strongest and most fuel-efficient afloat”.
Camachee Yacht Yard received the 2019 Boatyard of the Year Award which is presented to the boatyard facility that demonstrates excellence in all facets of their company through commitment to customer service, quality workmanship, best business practices, industry standards, professionalism, workforce development, and positive vendor relations. “Family values truly can translate into quality work, professionalism, innovation, integrity, fairness, and respect in business. Camachee Yacht Yard is an example of the heart and soul of our industry and a lifestyle in which a family and a business can thrive” said Lendzion in presenting the award to Peter Sabo Camachee Yacht Yard president.
